Most of the investigations you need at a cardiology appointment are done here, at the practice. That shortens the road from a symptom to a clear answer.
What can be done at the practice

Cardiology consultationA consultation that does not stop at the reason you came in. We go through your history, your test results, your lifestyle and your risk factors, then build a long term prevention plan together.
EchocardiographyA heart ultrasound shows how your heart looks and how it works. In the same session we take a preliminary look at the liver, the carotid arteries and, when needed, the thyroid, at no separate cost.- Holter ECGAn electrocardiogram lasts a few seconds. If your symptoms show up in the evening, during exercise or once a week, you need a continuous recording that can catch them.
- Blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)A single reading at the clinic says very little. ABPM records your blood pressure at regular intervals, day and night, and shows the real pattern, including what happens while you sleep.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)The basic test of the heart: a few minutes, with no discomfort. Its value lies in the reading, that is, in what your tracing means alongside the rest of your story.- Exercise testA heart can behave impeccably at rest and struggle on a flight of stairs. The exercise test records the electrocardiogram and blood pressure at the very moment more is asked of it.
- Ankle-brachial indexA simple comparison between the blood pressure at your ankle and the one at your arm shows whether the arteries of the legs have narrowed. The same figure says something about the heart as well.
Sudden death screeningThe conditions that cause sudden death in young people are silent, but most of them leave marks on the electrocardiogram. The trace is read against the international criteria for athletes, which separate a trained heart from a diseased one.
Body composition analysisWeight on its own says almost nothing. Body composition shows the balance between fat and muscle, and that is where the practical recommendations start.
